LOS ANGELES (AP) _ David Archuleta pulled out an Elvis tune -- and used it to beat up the competition on ``American Idol.'' At least that's what Simon says he did to the other three Idol finalists. Archuleta performed ``Love Me Tender'' for his second song last night, after doing ``Stand By Me.'' By that time, the other two contestants had messed up so badly, Simon said David could have whistled the tune and still done better than the other three. By the time he finished his second song, Simon said not only had he beaten the competition, he had ``crushed'' them. David Cook had a split night, messing up his first song before scoring big with his second one. Syesha broke down with tears of joy after Paula and Simon agreed she did well. That wasn't the case for Jason Castro. Simon told him straight up he should pack his bags because he was the next person to go home.
